What the Free Syrian Army needs is anti-tank and aircraft missiles, which would stop the Syrian government strategy of pulverising liberated areas into dust. With them the war could be over in a relatively short time, so it is probably up to those fearing helping the rebels to say how such weapons will cause problems down the line, or how the Russians could up the ante. Nuking Aleppo probably isn't a worthwhile option.
