A successful uprising in Syria would give other movements new courage
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Among the Western elites the criticism of Assad's methods has become quiet. Even the last intelligence chief has now become clear that an outgoing of the rebel "regime change" would not lead to a pro-Western puppet regime. Too are the democratic institutions of the revolution, the local coordination committees. For strong is the aversion to Western policy in the region, to support Israel against the invasion of Iraq, against tradition, to keep agreeable dictators. Every democratic government in Syria will be pro-Palestinian and anti-imperialist."
