Anxious time for Syria's
Christians amid Easter
This report was introduced on the News channel with, "Syria's Christians are being increasing targeted", and it is not true. Assad deliberately bombs civilians, this is a much smaller, and somewhat indiscriminate response, which has now been condemned by many of the major rebel factions. Lyse Doucet talks about the Jesuit priest who has now been killed in Homs without hinting that his opposition was to Assad. The idea that when one mortar round falls, "there is no peace now, just daily violence," is utterly disproportionate to those Syrians, mostly Sunni Muslims, who are being killed and starved. There is one line, "Syria's Christians say they are not the only ones being targeted", which could point to the reality, but it here just enables the BBC to cover all bases.
